OUGD405 - Photoshop Induction

OUGD405 - Photoshop Induction

Having already had an initial knowledge of photoshop, I did find this introduction to photoshop really useful. Our first session was getting the basics down and manipulating a film poster, and we went over different things and some were completely new to me and really helpful. Tools and different editing options that I had no prior knowledge of I have now learnt, these also in particular are really useful shortcuts and in the future will make editing and manipulating images a lot easier for me. This session I learnt how to create the effect of images overlaying one another while merging together, as you can see in my example below, I placed King Kong, a dragon and Batman behind the original image, while also changing Bruce Willis' head to Wokie from Star Wars. The second session, we got a lot more to grips with using overlaying and how they can be applied. In addition creating drawn sketches to look more digitalised, as I have done in the second image with batman, by removing the pencil marks and adjusting the levels and colour balance. I then used this image to overlay two batman's together and used the different brushes to enhance the speckled effect on the original image.
The most valuable tool to me however, was learning the use of the Spot Healing Tool and the Clone Stamp tool. From this manipulation I have completely changed the original image, which is something to prior this induction, I wouldn't of been able to do.
