Colour Theory
This task was all about colour theory. I found this task really useful in learning about warm and cool colours. It really gave us all an insight into the different tones of colours, for example our colour was blue, therefore we had to arrange all our blue objects we brought in from darkest to lightest. This itself proved harder than you would think as there are such a variety of shades and tones of blue, for example some were more turquoise based and some were more purple. In addition, while putting these objects into one warm tones pile and one cold tones pile, also proved difficult and is what our group struggled with the most. Although we achieved it once we learnt that cold colours were blue based and warm colours are red and yellow based, the outcome was really thought provoking as it was not what you would expect it to look like. We then went around other groups colours (red and yellow) to see their interpretations of this, and they were both a similar. The yellow objects in particular was really interesting to see and we couldn't wrap our heads around which tones were warmer and which were colder. After this we then teamed up all the the colours to create a colour wheel, which all linked up together nicely. The task was certainly worth while and taught me about the numerous tones and shades and which can be warm and cold colours, it gives you a good incentive into colour theory and colour harmony.
