OUGD505 Studio Brief 2 - Tutorial

As I was bit unclear on what my aim would be for my concept, I had a really helpful discussion to help me figure out what I wanted to achieve. The question was whether I wanted to expose the injustice and harassment or correct the imbalance. Therefore I would like to achieve both in my outcomes but focusing on correcting the imbalance by featuring female based artists. 

Ideas to look into -

• Block weekender
• Hyperdub
• Delia Derbyshire
• Feature female DJs
• Club culture has become 'to safe' - however a group of women expressed how this was a good thing as its a safe place for women, a lot of harassment goes on
• Music industry is ran by old, white men who are quite conservative and determine things by race and sex, going with what market will sell
• Women have been more decorative rather than useful in the club scene i.e using them semi nude on Ibiza album covers with a pair of headphones

• Features for female producers/DJs
• Features for festivals which equally distributed male and female line ups
• Campaign to encourage female's into the industry 
• Campaign exposing Discwoman & Hyperdub
• Posters exposing sexism
