OUGD504 Studio Brief 2 - Production Considerations
The brand identity for Glowing Plants is based upon the concept of green energy. The brand uses this strategy of natural lighting using no electricity as a source of renewable energy. The brand identity's aims are therefore to reiterate this to the public and emphasise that this is a new, innovative idea. This unique selling point creates a larger market and will appeal to a wide range of audiences.
It was appropriate to keep the designs organic and natural to emphasise the natural lighting aspect of the project, to really encourage people to be amazed by this new, innovative idea. The logo has been based on nature, as green energy is the whole basis of this project, it is fundamental to the design as you must associate this with the brand. The logo is also simplistic and kept duotone to reduce the prices for reproducibility in the budget. The use of green is adequate as although it is obvious, it works best kept with its representations. Audiences will instantly be able to recognise that this project connotes growth, nature, freshness and safety as this what green symbolises. This is best kept and best used so audiences can straight forwardly see the nature and key concepts of the brand.
The logo has been produced in Photoshop with two different variations, one in RGB for digital media and one in CMYK for print base media. This logo will be used amongst a range of collateral, including the website, packaging, business cards, canvas bags and social media to build the brands campaign and spread awareness. The logo size is also variable depending on the collateral for straightforward reproducibility, however must stick to the correct proportions so it is not distorted or skewed. In addition the packaging is kept to a small scale to reduce the cost within the budget.
All packaging must be supplied from the following retailers:
